Mark E. Langfan

Mark Langfan is a New York-based attorney who writes frequently on Middle Eastern affairs and security issues confronting Israel.

He has created a three-dimensional topographical model of Israel to explain the implications of strategic height and depth for Israel's security.

Born:  April 2, 1960

1983 – Cornell University, B. A. in Mathematics, Cum Laude with distinctions in all subjects.

1986 – Boston University School of Law, J. D., Magna Cum Laude, Editor of the Boston University Law School Law Review, received numerous additional law school scholastic awards.

1987 – Admitted to New York Bar Association.

1987 to Present – Managing Partner of the Langfan Company – a real estate investment firm.

1991 – Created First Generation Three-Dimensional Topographic Map of Israel System. (


1992 to present – Published numerous articles in newspapers and security journals including the Jerusalem Post, JINSA Security Affairs and PRAVDA, and lectured to numerous US Congressmen and US Senators and their staff on Israeli security starting with non-technical layman seminal article outlining the dangers of the Katyusha terrorist rocket threat from a “Demilitarized” West Bank Palestinian State “Demilitarization Details” in AIPAC’s March 1992 Near East Report  Soon after published in Jerusalem Post and JINSA’s Security Affairs  .  Gave scores of free lectures to many different Jewish and non-Jewish organizations all over the United States, including the NY Times’ Editorial Board.

1992 – Winner of Jabotinsky Medal for contribution to Israeli security education.

1993 – Authored full page New York Times ad on November 12, 1993, entitled “You Can Ignore Rabbis, You Can Ignore Generals, But You Can’t Ignore Both.”( New York Times Ad.html)


1993 – Created Second-Generation Three-Dimensional Topographic Map including overlays for water aquifers, Israeli settlements and Palestinian population centers, Israeli airbases, and “Allon Model” West Bank defense system. (

1993 – Winner of Ateret Cohanim Defender of Jerusalem Prize for work advancing Israel’s and Jerusalem’s security

1993-1996 – Donated over one hundred and fifty map systems including overlays to numerous Israeli and United States Governmental organizations and Knesset members and also including the US Joint Chiefs of Staff office, the US State Department and numerous private Israeli educational individuals.

1994 – Published the seminal article on the military dangers to US peace troops if placed in the Golan Heights “US Troops on Golan Quicksand” in JINSA’s Security Affairs, ( and gave pivotal congressional lecture series under the auspicious of the Center for Security Policy concerning the possible deployment of US Troops to the Golan Heights.

2006 – Created Israeli security website entitled with all Mark’s articles, videos and back-up information available on the website


Published the seminal article outlining Iran’s murder of US troops in Iraq, and Iran’s strategic plan of hegemony over the Persian Gulf, “Iran: The 4th Reichastan” which is translated into many different languages. ( Reichastan.html)


2007 – Sent Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan a letter specifically warning him of Iran’s danger to Turkey and the Middle East.


2010 – PRAVDA republished “Iran: The 4th Reichastan.


2011 – Member of the Board of EMET (Endowment for Middle East Truth).

2011 – Awarded the Justice Louis B. Brandeis Award by the Zionist Organization of America.

2012 - Awarded the Bet El Yeshiva Center's 2012 Shomer Yisrael Award.
